Final Result: DC win by 6 wickets with 13 balls to spare.

Second Innings summary:

  • RCB had the best start they could ask for. Defending this low total needed early wickets and the bowling department delivered. Yash and Bhuvi picked up 3 wickets in the powerplay.
  • Hazlewood was surprisingly the weak link today. His middle over was too expensive and that let DC run away with the chase.
  • Suyash had another decent outing. His wicket of Axar Patel continued the good momentum set by the fast bowlers.
  • KL Rahul was the crucial wicket tonight. His familiarity with the Chinnaswamy was the X-factor. Rajat Patidar dropped KL Rahul early which could have been the turning point. It was a difficult catch no doubt, but Rajat did all the hard-work only to let the ball bounce out of his hands at the last moment.

  • KL Rahul wraps up the chase with ease. His 100+ run partnership with Tristan Stubbs took the game away from RCB.

After 15 overs, DC Score: 121-4

13th Over: 94-4

First Innings summary:

  • RCB started the first 3 overs like no other team this IPL. they brought up their 50 within 3 overs and it looked set up to be a massive score. Phil Salt was an absolute boss in his short stint at the middle. He scored 30 runs from one over of Mitchell Starc.
  • The Phil Salt runout began the misery that RCB could not recover from. Following his runout, a total collapse of the middle order ensued. RCB went from 62-1 after the 4th over to 91-4 at the end of the 10th over.
  • DC’s bowlers need to be their due credit. The bowling rotations by Axar Patel worked to a tee and completely killed the RCB momentum. Kuldeep Yadav, Vipraj Nigam and Mukesh Kumar were superb.
  • Tim David’s heroics once again rescued RCB from a paltry total. He took RCB from 127 to 163 in final two overs. Simply brilliant from the Australian.

      • RCB’s middle order has been dismantled by the DC bowling attack as Jitesh is dismissed by a KL Rahul catch.

      12th Over: 102-4

Preview: RCB vs DC – A heavyweight match

Both teams go into the contest with 6 points each. DC have won all three of their games, while RCB have lots 1 out of their 4 games. That loss coming in their only home game so far has stung a tad more than it should have. Both the teams boast of strong batting lineups and balanced bowling lineups capable of restricting oppositions to relatively low totals.

      Key Battles:

      1. Virat Kohli vs Mitchell Starc:

This is a fiery battle through and through. Virat Kohli vs an Australian quick is always a cricketing feast. Starc is very dangerous upfront and is the leading wicket-taker for DC. Virat is the best answer RCB has for the Starc question. Kohli can temper the innings in the powerplay and keep the home side from losing too many wickets.

      2. Rajat Patidar vs Kuldeep Yadav :

The left-arm wrist spinner will be a crucial cog in the DC bowling squad. The RCB lineup is loaded with big-hitters. It is a prime situation for a bowler like Kuldeep, who can bait big shots that fail to clear the fence. Patidar has proven himself to be the spin destroyer and his battle with Kuldeep will set the tone for both sides in the middle phases.

      3. Josh Hazlewood vs KL Rahul:

Hoff has been the leading wicket-taker for RCB. His spells in the powerplay, his skill to repeatedly bowl dot balls and his knack to counter-attack have been splendid. KL found form at the top of the order for DC and whacked a 51 ball 77 against CSK. Being from Karnataka, Rahul is very familiar with the conditions in the Chinnaswamy and this battle is the tone-setter for the early phase of the DC innings.

      4. Suyash Sharma vs Tristan Stubbs:

The young Suyash did superbly against MI. His first 3 overs conceded only 15 runs which added tremendous pressure on the batters. Those 3 overs and the pressure from them later resulted in wickets for the other bowlers. His variety and fearlessness have been the result of the confidence instilled by the management and the team. Stubbs has been dangerous for DC in the middle order and can swing away big runs, therefore this will be another juicy contest in the game.

It will a battle of numerous matchups and is poised to be not only a tactical but also a very entertaining match with plenty of runs. Sit back and enjoy, let’s give the best for our team. RCB RCB RCB!
