Namaste cricket fans! Welcome to Red and Gold Pavilion. We hope this would be the start of a long journey together as part of the Indian Cricket Team and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru fan community. This is our first post to start off a more engaging and informed fan experience for the followers of the game.
Who are we ?
We are a small group of chatty cricket fans who miss the charm of the old times. Back then, cricket was always watched in groups with friends, family and often even with neighbors. Importantly, conversations that began with the toss, carried on till the post game. Every human relation in the room would turn into just one relation – fellow fans. The action on the pitch and in the television sets was matched by the enthusiasm and joy of the shared watching experience.
However, now in the smartphone era, everyone has their own mini TV. Due to this, the common watching spaces have shrunk drastically. Only on rare occasions or after well planned sessions are people able to come together to enjoy a game together. Even so, often there is always an absentee or two despite such elaborate planning. And we wish to make a small change in our own way.
What we do ?
We aim to cover the cricket games and news from a fans perspective. More importantly, create a digital space where the cricket fans can come together to take part in the discussions and share their emotions around the sport.
Be it game coverage, player news, team selections, analysis, opinion pieces or more, content will be centered around the Indian cricket and the IPL scene. And, all of that coming from the perspective of the everyday cricket fans. The ensuing conversations in the comment sections provide the space for the fans to come together and conversate regarding the topics covered. We believe this will digitally reconstruct the common fan-space that we miss in today’s world.
Our vision for the fans:
This fan blog will primarily cover Team India and Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL. The comment section will be a big part going forward and we have some amazing things planned for you readers. Your comment participation will build the community for more fans to come and create our own shared cricket space. Banter is obviously a big part of the watching experience, but we aim to ensure that it stays within respectful boundaries here. It is our aim and genuine attempt to create a warm and friendly atmosphere to every fan that comes here. So, RCB fans, IPL fans and Team India fans and any cricket fans in general are always heartily welcome.
