RCB won by 9 wickets with 15 balls remaining
Second innings middle and death overs – RCB Score: 175-1 after 17.3 overs
- RCB complete the chase with ease. Phil Salt’s 65 from 33 gave all the momentum RCB needed and put the bowling under a lot of pressure.
- Padikkal’s 40 off 28 was a handy knock to aid Kohli in hunting down the target.
- Plenty of misfields from RR that evened out the misfields by RCB. Atleast 5 dropped catches from the Rajasthan fielders.
- RCB are back to winning ways after that home loss. This should give them confidence to translate it into a win at home.
Second innings Powerplay – RCB Score: 65-0
- Totally one-sided powerplay as the RCB opening pair is too strong for the RR bowlers.
- Phil Salt once again demonstrated the game changing ability he possesses.
- Virat Kohli’s game today is the perfect innings needed from. Transitioning from an anchor role to an accelerator based on the situation.
Target for RCB – 174
First innings death overs – RR score: 173-4
- The fielders have let the bowlers down today. Dropped catches and misfields at the boundary. These seemingly little things add up to significant advantages.
- The RCB bowling unit have impressed with their composure. A few boundaries could not disturb their focus.
- RR have been restricted to 173, but it could have been 10-15 runs short of that.
- Jurel who was dropped at 12 by Kohli, went on to score 35(23). The late flourish pushed RR from 126 to 173. Once again, the misfields have put their impact on the game.
First innings middle overs – RR Score: 126-3
- Krunal Pandya opened RCB’s account with the wickets, he dismissed Sanju Samson. Jitesh Sharma did a decent job with the stumping.
- Some misfields by RCB gave breathing room and prevented RR batters from coming under too much pressure. Yash Dayal dropped Riyan Parag off Suyash Sharma. Suyash himself has been quite poor in the field today, leaving 2-3 boundaries that should have been stopped.
- Dayal made up for that drop by dismissing Parag himself. Riyan was caught at covers by Kohli.
- Yashasvi Jaiswal has been the pick of the batters. His pacing was good and provided stability and a steady flow of runs for RR.
- Hazlewood dismissed the set batter Jaiswal who was looking dangerous at 75(47). That can be a big turning point.
RR after powerplay – Score: 45-0
- Yashasvi Jaiswal took the driving seat for RR in the powerplay.
- His score of 30 off 20 nullified a good number of dot balls and accelerated RR’s pp score.
- Despite the boundaries, RCB bowlers did well to bowl several dot balls. This is RR’s lowest powerplay score this year.
- With no wickets taken by RCB for the first time this year in powerplay, it is safe to say that the powerplay was a even contest.
RR Powerplay: Preview
